Switching from Booqable, Oct 2026

Thinking of leaving Booqable?

Booqable is rental software with a booking page, website integration and an optional website builder, used by rental businesses worldwide. If add-ons or plan limits have you reviewing your options, here’s what to export first, what RiQ (pronounced “Rick”) offers, and where Booqable may still suit you better. Facts about Booqable come from its own pricing page and help centre, checked 21 Oct 2026. RiQ is waitlist-only and onboarding in stages, tool and plant first.

Export your data before you decide anything

Booqable’s help centre says you can export orders, documents, customers, inventory, collections and reports to CSV files from your account. Trackable products export one row per stock item, and each product’s main image comes out as a link. Take a full copy while your account is active, and keep it whatever you decide.

  • Inventory, with every stock item and its identifier
  • Customers, including company and individual accounts
  • Open and future orders, so nothing is missed at cut-over
  • Documents: quotes, contracts and invoices

Know what you pay for today

Booqable’s pricing page lists some features as add-ons billed separately: the website builder and Deliveries on every plan, barcode scanning on Grow and Scale and Mobile Point of Sale, both charged for each user, and extra locations on Scale. Its plans also differ in how many team members can log in. Add up your plan and add-ons before you compare. With RiQ, the hire website is Tier 1 itself, and Tiers 2 and 3 build on it. RiQ has bolt-ons too: invoicing and WhatsApp on Tier 3, and barcode scanning and route planning as bolt-on apps.

  • List the add-ons on your current invoice
  • Count the people who log in each week
  • Check your billing cycle: Booqable says it doesn’t refund unused time

Customers book online, on your own domain

RiQ gives you a booking storefront on your own domain with your own branding. Customers see live availability and the price, then book and pay. Booqable offers a ready-made booking page and website integration on every plan, so the bigger differences are in what sits behind the booking.

  • Storefront on your own domain and branding
  • Live availability on every product
  • Card payments, deposits and pre-auths
  • Bookings land in your RiQ account

Booking built for UK tool and plant hire

RiQ was built running live tool and plant hire at National Tool Hire and Mammoth Hire. Required items and damage waiver are added at checkout, deposits are taken up front, and inspection records sit on the asset. Some public reviews of Booqable say per-item delivery and collection rules or per-product extras had to be worked around by hand; if that sounds familiar, ask us how RiQ handles your jobs.

  • Live availability, bundles and required items
  • Damage waiver and hire-insurance lines
  • PAT, LOLER and PUWER records on the asset
  • Off-hire, exchange, extension and partial returns

Where Booqable may suit you better

Booqable is available now, with published plans, a 14-day trial and no commission on bookings, per its pricing page. It offers 80+ website templates, many payment processors and integrations such as Xero, Zapier and Mailchimp. RiQ is waitlist-only and onboarding tool and plant first, so if you rent outside the UK or need to start this week, Booqable may be the better fit for now.

  • Trial and published pricing (Booqable)
  • Large template library for rental websites (Booqable)
  • List what you use every week before you compare
