Garden & landscaping machinery hire software
Garden machinery hire software, ready for the spring rush.
Chainsaws, hedge trimmers, chippers, stump grinders, turf cutters and rotavators go out to landscapers on account and to homeowners for a weekend, and most of the demand lands in a few busy months. RiQ (pronounced “Rick”) keeps the machine, its records and the invoice on one hire. Fully cloud-based, with nothing to install on your premises.
Hiring out a machine is supplying it
Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, which applies in Great Britain, supplying an article includes supplying it by way of hire (section 53(1)). Anyone who supplies an article for use at work must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that it is safe when it is set, used, cleaned or maintained (section 6(1)(a)), carry out or arrange any testing and examination needed for that (section 6(1)(b)), and take the steps needed to make sure the people supplied get adequate information about its intended use and the conditions for using it safely (section 6(1)(c)). The duty stays with you; RiQ keeps the evidence to hand. Inspections are logged against each machine at off-hire, servicing sits in the workshop record, and the Certificates & Inspections app sends records to the customer with every hire.
- Inspections logged against the asset at off-hire
- Workshop, servicing and inspection records
- Certificates sent with the hire
- Workshop Pro: parts, labour, job cards and downtime cost
Prices that follow the season, never below your floor
Garden machinery is quiet in winter and booked solid on a sunny spring weekend. The Dynamic Pricing app sets utilisation, season and lead-time rules, with a floor and a ceiling price on each item, so a busy weekend earns more and a quiet week never sells below the price you set. The price the customer sees is locked at checkout.
- Dynamic Pricing app: utilisation, season and lead-time rules
- Floor and ceiling prices
- Price locked at checkout
- Multi-depot availability and transfers
The machine and what goes with it, on one booking
A chainsaw goes out with a spare chain and the right protective kit, a chipper with its towing gear. Set these up as bundles and required items so they are added to every booking automatically and availability is checked for every piece. Offer extras at checkout with Upsell & Bundles Pro, and record how each machine left and came back with the Condition Photos app.
- Bundles and required items
- Add-ons at checkout (Upsell & Bundles Pro)
- Condition Photos app
- Barcode / RFID Scanning app for check-out and check-in
Weekend homeowners and landscapers on account
Homeowners can check live availability, then book and pay online on your own domain and branding, with deposits and damage waiver added at checkout and the ID & Licence Check app running ID checks before they arrive. Landscapers and grounds contractors keep machines out for the season on trade accounts, extend or part-return a hire with their price locked, and request collection themselves. Heavier machines go out on planned delivery and collection runs.
- Online booking with live availability
- Deposits and damage waiver at checkout
- Trade accounts and credit terms
- Delivery & collection planning, driver app
