Traffic management & barrier hire software

Traffic management hire software, every cone counted back.

Signs, cones, barriers, temporary fencing and portable traffic lights go out in hundreds of small pieces and come back a few at a time. RiQ (pronounced “Rick”) keeps every kit, site and invoice on one hire, so you know what is still out and who is paying. Fully cloud-based, with nothing to install on your premises.

Kits on one booking

A road closure or a footway diversion is rarely one item. Bundle signs, frames, cones, lamps and barriers into kits, add sandbags and feet as required items, and offer extras at checkout, so the whole job goes out on one booking and one contract.

  • Live availability, bundles and required items
  • Add-ons at checkout (Upsell & Bundles Pro)
  • Contracts, e-sign and invoices
  • Online booking on your own domain and branding

Counted out, counted back

Barriers and fencing panels come back in batches as a site shrinks. Part-return a hire and keep the rest on with the customer’s price locked, check items in by phone or scanner, and let drivers capture condition photos and signatures, so missing and damaged pieces are on record before the invoice goes.

  • Off-hire, exchange, extension and partial returns
  • Barcode / RFID Scanning app for check-out and check-in
  • Condition photos and signatures
  • Damage waiver and claim logging

Kit that stays out for months

Fencing and barriers can sit on a site for the life of a project. Put contractors on trade accounts with credit terms, send invoices to your accounts package, and let site managers request collection themselves. On Core and Enterprise, the customer self-service portal also handles off-hire requests and invoices.

  • Trade accounts and credit terms
  • Accounting sync with Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
  • Customer collection requests

Your customers have a signing duty, you have the delivery record

In England and Wales, section 65 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 requires an undertaker executing street works to secure that the works are adequately guarded and lit, and that traffic signs are placed and maintained as reasonably required. The Act lets the Secretary of State issue codes of practice with practical guidance on those duties. The duty sits with the people doing the works, not the hire company. RiQ keeps your side on record: what went to which site, when, in what condition, and the signed handover.

  • Delivery and install scheduling
  • Multi-drop planning with the Route Optimiser app
  • Delivery ETAs and return reminders by SMS or WhatsApp
  • Multi-depot availability and transfers
